Now. So its known, I only have a few problems with Sunday. For the most part it has been a pretty good day. Football, ABC's Wide World of Sports, Sunday Red home jerseys for the Braves, NASCAR, lunch, snuggling up with the honey (when applicable), church, The Simpsons, etc.
But for every up there must be a trade off. And Sunday gets hits pretty hard.
My biggest complaint is because I'm sitting waiting on my next Netflix movie to leave the mail box. Miss that last available post time on Saturday and your movie is sitting waiting to be mailed to Netflix until Monday morning. Post not running on Sunday. How many things could be taken care of if only post would move on Sunday and let those that can take care of business on Sunday take care of business? But instead the US Government decides that everyone needs to take the Chick-Fil-A (I'll get to them) attitude. And not work on sunday. Many hard working individuals have to work sunday. Why not the post? If Johnny Anyworker has to work on Sunday at Big Lunch Spot why doesn't Fred Lettercarrier? Big Lunch Spot realizes that they need to be open sunday and keep enough staff to carry out their work all week.
Chick-Fil-A isn't exempt from this lecture. If you click on the FAQs from the chick-fil-a website you will see an answer from the corporate offices as to why they are closed on sundays. *cough*BS*cough* Wow they sold out in this PC age. Plus its not exactly a hassle to operate on sundays. Ask anyone who has ever worked a Sunday but still got 2 days off during the week. Sure your week changes but you evolve and get over it. Chick-fil-a needs to man up and re-admit that they are a christian based company. And thus they will be closed on Sundays. If its
good enough for Snooky's (its an awesome local restaurant) then its good enough for anybody. I mean seriously on Snooky's door showing hours of operation. "Sunday - See you in church" Man Up!
There are few more things that could be fixed on sunday including... no alcohol sales and the dead afternoon after football season ends but I'll leave that for later.
- Peace,
Ant
